Diamant Leather Briefcase B4
¥80,300
No.621503
This B4 size briefcase features a cutting design inspired by the image of “upside-down Mt. Fuji.”
Mt. Fuji’s beautiful ridgeline, which extends from the summit, has long been the source of fascination for Japanese people and is often depicted in various artistic works. The beauty of nature has been embodied in a bag using artisanal techniques. To finish the cuts, the edges are carefully polished and vanished multiple times after cutting. The process of artisans carrying out this is labor-intensive and cannot be mass-produced. Furthermore, all of the small parts are also made in Japan. The metal fitting trademark of FUJITAKA, which depicts a hawk on Mt. Fuji, is crafted by skilled craftsmen who sculpt the hawk, Mt. Fuji, and text into a tiny frame. The metal fitting is inserted into a leather piece that is hollowed out at the center of the bag.
The special cowhide leather was originally developed for this series as the main material. We selected only the finest raw hides from Japan and have them tanned at the top tannery in the country. Japanese craftsmen with traditional Italian manufacturing methods use a unique method to perform the base tanning process that takes advantage of the strengths of both countries’ technology.

Description of item
The special cowhide leather was originally developed for this series as the bag's main material. We selected only the finest raw hides from Japan and have them tanned at the top tannery in the country. Japanese craftsmen with traditional Italian manufacturing methods use a unique method to perform the base tanning process that takes advantage of the strengths of both countries’ technology. When a leather and tanning agent are placed into a drum called a drum and rotated, the rotation speed is slowed down to allow the agent to penetrate deeper into the fine fibers and tan the leather. To provide the Diamant’s shape with firmness and flexibility, it is necessary to slow down the rotation speed, which involves several times more effort, time, and cost than usual. After that, we apply oil with care and finish the piece with a deep dye. The piece has a delicate and elegant appearance due to the shallow embossing applied throughout. The design is remarkable due to the beautiful and high-quality nature of the original leather.
