京友禅 手捺染では、京友禅の職人の手により、何枚もの型を正確に重ね合わせることで、ひとつの柄が染め上げられます。永年培われてきた歴史と職人の経験が可能にするその美しさ。 顔料染めやプリントでは見ることのできなかった革本来の風合いを失わない類まれなる美しさがここにあります。この柄はどこまでも伸びてゆくツタの様子が生命力の象徴とされている唐草文様。一族の繁栄や長寿を意味する、縁起がよい吉祥文様として愛されました。

In "Te-Nassen" (hand-made dyeing), one pattern is dyed up by overlaying several pieces precisely by the hands of Kyo Yuzen craftsmen. Its beauty that history and craftsmen's experiences have been cultivated for many years. Here is a rare beauty keeping the original leather texture that is impossible with pigment dyeing or printing. One of the features of Kyo Yuzen, steaming at a high temperature that enhances the coloring of the dye. Originally, when giving heat or immersing in water, the fiber breaks, but Yuzen craftsmen and leather craftsmen get to know each other, repeat considering, and delicately adjust steaming time and temperature to realize succeeded.
Where is a delicate expression that can never be imitated with machines alone. This pattern is KARAKUSA pattern as a symbol of life force compared the appearance of ivy which extends to everywhere. So Japanese people love it as a good auspicious pattern, meaning prosperity and longevity of the family.
